Steve's favorite painting subjects in the beginning were of the sea and ships, but of recent years, due to many requests for wildlife paintings, he has learned to appreciate the beauty and spirit of the animals he paints.  Steve participated in recent Redmond Artsplash Shows where he had the honor of winning people's choice two years in a row, as well as Honorable Mention by the Judges.  He accidentally discovered his natural ability to paint in his 30's and has been painting ever since.  For the past 6 years he has attended Wildlife Art Workshops at the Jackson Lake Lodge in the Grand Tetons National Park of Wyoming,  where he has studied under well-known Artists, Robert Bateman, Carl Brenders, , Terry Isaac,  Lee Kromschroeder,  Stephen Quiller,  Richard Sloan, Tucker Smith,  Rod Fredericks, and others.
